Uccha & Neecha — Planetary Exaltation and Debilitation उच्च व नीच — ग्रहों का बल ઉચ્ચ ને નીચ — ગ્રહોનું બળ
A planet's strength changes with the sign it occupies. When a planet sits in its exaltation (Uccha) sign it is at its most powerful and gives excellent results; in its debilitation (Neecha) sign it is weakest and its natural significations struggle.
Exaltation signs of the planets
- Sun — exalted in Aries, debilitated in Libra
- Moon — exalted in Taurus, debilitated in Scorpio
- Mars — exalted in Capricorn, debilitated in Cancer
- Mercury — exalted in Virgo, debilitated in Pisces
- Jupiter — exalted in Cancer, debilitated in Capricorn
- Venus — exalted in Pisces, debilitated in Virgo
- Saturn — exalted in Libra, debilitated in Aries
Neecha Bhanga — cancelled debilitation
A debilitated planet is not always bad. If certain conditions apply — for example, the lord of the debilitation sign is strong or in a kendra, or the planet that would be exalted there aspects it — the weakness is cancelled. This is called Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga, and it can turn a weak placement into a source of unexpected rise and success.

ग्रह का बल उसकी राशि से बदलता है। जब ग्रह अपनी उच्च राशि में हो तो वह सबसे बलवान होता है और उत्तम फल देता है; अपनी नीच राशि में वह सबसे कमजोर होता है और उसके स्वाभाविक कारकत्व संघर्ष करते हैं।
ग्रहों की उच्च राशियाँ
- सूर्य — मेष में उच्च, तुला में नीच
- चंद्र — वृषभ में उच्च, वृश्चिक में नीच
- मंगल — मकर में उच्च, कर्क में नीच
- बुध — कन्या में उच्च, मीन में नीच
- गुरु — कर्क में उच्च, मकर में नीच
- शुक्र — मीन में उच्च, कन्या में नीच
- शनि — तुला में उच्च, मेष में नीच
नीच भंग — रद्द हुआ नीचत्व
नीच ग्रह हमेशा बुरा नहीं होता। यदि कुछ शर्तें पूरी हों — जैसे नीच राशि का स्वामी बलवान या केंद्र में हो, या वहाँ उच्च होने वाला ग्रह उसे देखे — तो कमजोरी रद्द हो जाती है। इसे नीच भंग राजयोग कहते हैं, जो कमजोर स्थिति को अप्रत्याशित उन्नति में बदल सकता है।

- મંગળ — મકરમાં ઉચ્ચ, કર્કમાં નીચ
- બુધ — કન્યામાં ઉચ્ચ, મીનમાં નીચ
- ગુરુ — કર્કમાં ઉચ્ચ, મકરમાં નીચ
- શુક્ર — મીનમાં ઉચ્ચ, કન્યામાં નીચ
- શનિ — તુલામાં ઉચ્ચ, મેષમાં નીચ
નીચ ભંગ — રદ થયેલું નીચત્વ
નીચ ગ્રહ હંમેશા ખરાબ નથી. જો અમુક શરતો પૂરી થાય — જેમ કે નીચ રાશિનો સ્વામી બળવાન કે કેન્દ્રમાં હોય, અથવા ત્યાં ઉચ્ચ થનારો ગ્રહ એને જુએ — તો નબળાઈ રદ થાય. એને નીચ ભંગ રાજયોગ કહે છે, જે નબળી સ્થિતિને અણધારી ઉન્નતિમાં ફેરવી શકે.
