Mangal Dosha (Manglik / Kuja Dosha) forms when Mars sits in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the Lagna (many traditions also check from the Moon and Venus). These houses touch marriage and married life, and Mars — hot and aggressive — is believed to bring friction there.
Real effects (without the fear)
Mangal Dosha does NOT mean marriage is doomed. Traditionally it indicates: delay in marriage, temper and clashes between partners, or health/energy imbalance. Its strength varies — Mars in the 7th or 8th is considered stronger dosha than in the 12th.
When is it cancelled (Bhanga)?
- Mars in its own sign (Aries, Scorpio) or exalted (Capricorn)
