AstrologyViewer (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website https://astrologyviewer.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
By using AstrologyViewer, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
AstrologyViewer is an independent online tool that generates Vedic astrology charts (kundalis), dashas, yogas, doshas, panchang, and related calculations. We are based in India and operate the Service from India.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
When you generate a kundali, you enter:
- Name (optional)
- Gender (optional)
- Date of birth
- Time of birth
- Place of birth (city, latitude, longitude, time zone)
This data is sent to our server only to calculate the chart. If you are not signed in, we do not store this data on our server after the calculation completes; it is only kept in your browser’s sessionStorage while you use the app.
2.2 Information collected automatically
We may collect basic technical data such as:
- IP address (used only for security and abuse prevention)
- Browser type, language, and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent, and clicked features (aggregated analytics)
- Approximate location (derived from IP, country level only)
2.3 If you sign in with Google
If you choose to sign in using Google, we receive the following from Google’s OAuth service:
- Your Google account ID (a unique anonymous identifier)
- Your email address
- Your name
- Your profile picture URL
We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts, or any other Google data. We only use the scopes openid, email, and profile.
2.4 If you save kundalis to your account
When signed in, you may save one or more kundalis (yours, family, friends) to your account. We store:
- The name/label you assign
- The birth details you entered
- Optional notes you write
- Creation and last-modified timestamps
2.5 Cookies and local storage
We use:
- Session cookies to keep you signed in
- Browser localStorage to remember your language preference
- Browser sessionStorage to hold your current kundali so you can navigate between pages without re-entering details
We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate accurate astrological calculations you requested
- To remember your saved kundalis (only if signed in)
- To improve the Service (performance, accuracy, new features)
- To prevent abuse, spam, and security threats
- To comply with legal obligations
We will never use your birth data for marketing, profiling, advertising, or sell it to third parties.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google (when you choose to sign in) — limited to the OAuth handshake
- Our hosting provider — only as required to operate the Service (server logs, etc.)
- Legal authorities — if compelled by valid Indian law or court order
5. Third-Party Services We Use
- Google OAuth 2.0 — for sign-in (subject to Google’s Privacy Policy)
- Google Fonts — to render typography. Google Fonts logs the IP for delivery.
- Hosting provider (e.g., DigitalOcean) — server infrastructure
6. Data Retention
- Anonymous usage: birth data is discarded after calculation; not stored on our server.
- Signed-in accounts: we retain your profile and saved kundalis until you delete them or request account deletion.
- Server logs: kept for up to 30 days for debugging and security, then deleted.
7. Your Rights
Under the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (and GDPR for EU residents), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your saved kundalis (data portability)
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- HTTPS encryption for all traffic
- Passwords are never stored (authentication is via Google only)
- Server access is restricted and monitored
- Regular software updates and security patches
However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Users
Our servers are located in India. By using the Service, you consent to your data being processed in India. We do not transfer personal data outside India except as required for Google OAuth (USA).
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
