KP System (Krishnamurti Paddhati) — Free Online

Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) is a modern, highly precise system of Vedic astrology developed by Prof. K. S. Krishnamurti. It is prized for giving sharp, yes-or-no answers by narrowing prediction down to the level of the sub-lord. AstrologyViewer's free KP tool builds your KP birth chart, resolves every planet and cusp to its sub-lord, and includes a horary (Prashna) calculator — all in English, हिन्दी and ગુજરાતી.

What makes KP different

Traditional Vedic astrology weighs signs, houses and many rules together, which can produce mixed signals. KP simplifies this by dividing each of the 27 nakshatras into unequal subs using the Vimshottari dasha proportions, creating 249 sub-divisions around the zodiac. The planet ruling the sub in which a point falls — its sub-lord — becomes the deciding factor. KP also uses Placidus house cusps and the Krishnamurti ayanamsa rather than whole-sign houses, so cusps fall at exact degrees.

How to read a KP result

In KP, a house "matter" fructifies when the sub-lord of that cusp is a significator of the houses that support it. For marriage (7th cusp), a favourable sub-lord connected to the 2nd, 7th and 11th houses indicates a promise of marriage; the timing then comes from the ruling planets and the running dasha. Because the method is rule-based and repeatable, many astrologers use KP to cross-check a traditional reading.
